Now that the frenzy of Christmas is over, I think it is important to take a moment to reflect on the things you enjoyed most in 2017.  Here is a quick look back on “my best of 2017” and some of my dreams and hopes for 2018.

2017 brought a lot of ups and downs but I like to remember the good times.   I am very fortunate to have had so many wonderful times and some of my favourite things included holidays and spending time with family and friends.

Sport packed the earlier few months of my 2017.  No marathons this year but I still managed a number of races including the Kilnaboy 10 mile race which was tough but very enjoyable.

20170716_203726.pngI climbed Benbulben, in Co. Mayo with friends on a very wet and miserable June morning.  We had a wonderful climb and laughed all the way to the top.

Lots of dancing and music with friends kept me busy during the summer months including great music at the All Ireland Fleadh down in Ennis.

I celebrated family birthdays including my wonderful Mums 80th birthday which was a brilliant evening with all our relatives.  I hope I look and feel as wonderful as Mum does at 80.  Birthdays are a brilliant opportunity for family and friends to meet on happy occasions. Make every effort to meet family and celebrate birthdays in 2018.

In July, I went to the amazing Greek Island of Naxos to celebrate my friends wedding.  We spent the week preparing for the “Greek Wedding Experience” which included lots of singing, eating and dancing.  We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every moment of this wonderful island. Feeling the heat on my bones, dining in beach restaurants with the moon shining brightly and the sand between my toes were  the best moments I cherished while I was there.

In December my visit to the Edinburgh Christmas Markets was a super trip and the weather was crisp and cold. Lots to do in a wonderful city for all ages. If you have never been then put this on your to go to list, at any time of the year. We met up with more friends, tried haggis and celebrated another year of friendship.

Christmas arrived before I knew it and as usual was packed with lots of parties, meeting family and friends, last minute shopping and lots of fun throughout.  I  enjoyed every minute of it.

Now it is time to focus on 2018 and plan more family time, holidays and exercise.  One of my goals in 2017 was to start a blog and I would like to thank ALL my readers for encouraging me to keep going. Do you have goals and dreams for 2018?

I hope 2018 is your best year yet and I hope all your dreams come true.
